Frequently asked questions
- News from over 300,000 websites and blogs worldwide. Sources include major international outlets and regional publications in 59 languages. Each source is ranked using Open Page Rank (OPR) from 0 to 10, so you can filter articles by source authority.
- We do not own the copyright to article content. The API returns article metadata: titles, descriptions, publication dates, source information, and links to the original articles. For the full article text, link to the original source. Customers use the API for news aggregation, market news dashboards, and research, within fair use guidelines.
- Yes, unused credits carry forward on annual plans. On monthly plans, credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Annual subscribers can accumulate up to 3 months worth of unused credits.
- You can upgrade or downgrade anytime through your dashboard. When upgrading, the new plan starts immediately, and you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle, and you keep your current plan features until then. Enterprise customers can contact sales for custom adjustments.
- Access the APITube API using REST API calls or the official SDKs. We provide official SDKs and code examples for Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, PHP, Go, Ruby, Swift, Kotlin, R, and 20+ other languages. Use any HTTP client to call the REST API directly. Our integration guides have step-by-step tutorials for Django, Flask, Laravel, Express.js, and Spring Boot. For AI workflows, connect through MCP Server with Claude or other AI assistants.
- When you run out of monthly credits, API requests return a 429 status code. You can upgrade to a higher-tier plan for immediate additional credits, enable pay-as-you-go overage billing in your settings, or wait for your credits to reset at the start of the next billing cycle. Set up usage alerts at 50%, 80%, and 95% thresholds to avoid service interruptions.
- Free plan credits reset daily at 00:00 UTC, giving you a fresh allocation every 24 hours. If you consistently need more requests, paid plans provide more credits, higher rate limits, access to sentiment analysis and entity extraction, and priority support.
- The API offers 65+ filters. Core filters include: date range (published_at), language (59 supported), country (177 countries), category (technology, business, sports, etc.), and source domain. Advanced filters let you search by sentiment polarity (positive/negative/neutral), entity mentions (people, organizations, locations), industry classification, story clusters, and source authority rank. Combine filters using boolean logic (AND/OR/NOT) and match partial words with title.starts_with, title.ends_with and title.pattern. The Query Builder tool helps you construct complex queries visually.
- Each article has a tone score from -1.0 (most negative) to +1.0 (most positive), plus a confidence score. You also get separate scores for the title and body. Use these to follow brand coverage, market opinion, or potential risks.
- Articles about the same event or topic are grouped into one story. Instead of 50 separate articles about an event, you can see its timeline, key sources, and the breakdown of positive, negative, and neutral coverage. Each story has a unique ID you can use to follow updates.
