APITube has acquired GetNewsAPI. The two products will use the APITube name. Existing GetNewsAPI customers will move to APITube, and getnewsapi.com will redirect to apitube.io.
GetNewsAPI and APITube will become one product under the APITube name.
Why the products are merging
Using several news APIs means comparing providers, splitting requests across them, and handling different response formats.
The merged product will focus on:
- Broader coverage. APITube already covers 300,000+ verified sources. The combined product will expand that coverage.
- Article details. The API will continue to provide sentiment analysis, names mentioned in articles, and coverage in multiple languages.
- Product improvements. Priorities include data quality, update speed, language and country coverage, and more detail about each article.
The financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
What changes for GetNewsAPI customers
Your GetNewsAPI endpoints will keep working during the migration window. A separate migration guide will explain:
- How to transfer your API key to APITube without registering again
- Which APITube endpoints replace your existing endpoints
- How the response fields differ and how to handle them
- How your existing plan and prices carry over
The getnewsapi.com domain will redirect to apitube.io. Your paid plan, rate limits, and billing cycle will be honored. Contact support if you need help before the migration guide is published.
What changes for APITube customers
For now, your endpoints, response fields, and prices stay the same.
Over the next few quarters, we plan to expand language and country coverage, add more detail about names and industries, and improve access to historical articles through the News API.
Migration guide and support
We will publish the GetNewsAPI migration guide in a follow-up post. If you use GetNewsAPI and want to move early, contact support.
To evaluate APITube, start with the pricing page and documentation. A free development plan is available without a credit card.
