Frequently asked questions

Call GET /v1/news/local with a center point — either lat and lng together, or a place name (optionally with a country code to disambiguate). APITube returns articles within the radius, sorted by distance by default, each tagged with distance_km and its nearest location.
The radius is in kilometers, defaults to 50, and can go up to 20000. You can also set a minimum radius to search a ring around the center instead of a full disc.
Sort by distance (the default), published_at, or relevance. Relevance blends proximity, source authority, and freshness; ranking presets — balanced, proximity, authority, and fresh — let you tune the mix, and you can override individual weights.
Optional analytics blocks you request with insights=..., such as mood, hotspots, events, breaking, timeline, top_categories, and top_topics. Each requested block adds 1 point to the request.
Yes. /v1/news/local accepts the same filters as /v1/news/everything — language, category, sentiment, source, and dates — so you can narrow local results further. There are also geo filters on /everything itself: location.name, location.bbox, and location.lat / location.lng / location.radius.
1 point for the result set, plus 1 point for each insight block you request.
